Game Mechanics

There are different ways of how bingo played, but for sure learning the essential rules in a traditional hall, in order to get past the other bingo variables, must be on your baseline knowledge. There is no usual limit as to the number of cards you can play. The one who will be calling out numbers in front is called the caller. The caller gives or shows what particular pattern needs to be filled up for the particular game. One is required to fill up the pattern with the numbers to be called out by the caller. The amount of the pot money for this particular game is also announced by the caller.

“Bingo!” should be shouted out after the pattern is filled out by the player. That person is disqualified and won’t be able to claim the pot money anymore, if he or she shouted after the next number is called. The yell of “Bingo!” must be sufficiently loud for the floor walker or assistant to hear. While the numbers are called out again by the caller, the potential winner is approached by the floor walker and the card verified. The floor walker, in some more modern bingo halls, will just announce the bingo card number and the number is punched by the caller in a verifier machine and the win is validated.

From one bingo hall to another, the policy on claiming of pot money will vary. One or more valid identification card must presented by the winner on certain bingo halls. The winner’s identification must be revealed and together with the amount won and posted on a winner’s board on some bingo halls. There are halls which post the winning card for other players to validate the win.

If the win has problems or discrepancies, the case is judged by the caller, and the last judgment is his decision. The game of bingo is pleasing and fairly easy. Know the basics and you’re surely good to go.
